Umrah is the greatest year of the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. It is a religious act that Muslims can do at any time or best times of the year without any time constraints. When it comes to reward, performing Umrah during the month of Ramadan carries the greatest reward. Narrated Ibn Abbas that the Messenger of Allah Muhammad peace be upon him said:
"The performance of 'Umrah in the month of Ramadan, as (the reward) parallel to the existence of Hajj with me." - Bukhari

What is Umrah?

  In Arabic, the word "Umrah" is derived from I'timaar which means visiting. However, "Umrah in Islamic terms means visiting the Kaaba, performing tawaaf around it and walking between Safa and Marwa seven times, and the imam performing ihraam is forbidden to shave his hair or cut it." Umrah can be performed with Hajj and other days as well.
